Disinformation artist at work: readers beware!

Of course, the book is about me and Kevin Barrett, so I am a huge fan. The attack by Emmanuel Goldstein (whom we believe to be Judy Wood, the author of WHERE DID THE TOWERS GO?), is consistent with her practice of denigrating those of us who have been doing what we can to establish the truth about 9/11. When I posted a five-star review of her book here on amazon.com, it was received with 2,000 attacks by fans of Judy Wood--not 2,000 comments on her book but 2,000 comments on MY REVIEW OF HER BOOK. They appear to have been motivated by my observation that, while she had successfully argued against large nukes beneath the Twin Towers, she had not excluded the use of micro or mini nukes in a sophisticated arrangement.
For making that modest note, which can be verified by consulting her book, I have been massively attacked, not least of all by contriving a fabricated account of "fetzering" as a propaganda ploy. My remark has been substantiated by subsequent research. Anyone who knows my work knows that it has precisely the opposite qualities. As you would expect from a professional scholar, my articles are thorough and well-documented. On 9/11, for example, try "20 reasons the 'official account' of 9/11 is wrong" on the science of 9/11 and "Peeling the 9/11 Onion: Layers of Plots within Plots" on the politics. I have also written about Judy Wood. See, for example, "Judy Wood and DEWs: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", for those who may want to learn more about what's going on here.
Just for background, I featured Judy on my radio shows 15 times in late 2006 and for years thereafter when no one would give her the time of day. I featured her in the first national conference in Madison (2007), where I gave her an unprecedented three hours to speak. I published an article by her in THE 9/11 CONSPIRACY (2007) and even invited her to speak during The Vancouver Hearings (2012), to which she did not even respond. The hearings themselves provided massive confirmation that 9/11 was a nuclear event, as I have explained in many articles published since, for example, "9/11 truth will out: The Vancouver Hearings II", where the contents of the USGS dust samples establishes that conclusion beyond a reasonable doubt.
For reasons best know to her, Judy claims that we cannot determine WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE or WHY IT WAS DONE unless we have established HOW IT WAS DONE beyond any doubt. But we have already done that, where, given her definition of "DEWs" as devices that can provide vastly more energy than conventional and which can be directed, the use of mini or micro nukes--which provide vastly more energy than conventional and can be directed--satisfies her own definition. And we have gone forward to nail those who were responsible and why, where a nice example is my "9/11 J'accuse: Zelikow, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, and O'Brien". You will search in vain through Judy's work to find discussion of who was responsible and why. IT'S NOT THERE!
What this means is that, given the extent to which she and her followers continue to attack me--where the number of critical posts on amazon.com after I amended my review to three-stars in the wake of The Vancouver Hearings has now grown to more than 5,000!--and the vagueness of her position is that her work is functioning as a limited hang-out, which does a lot to explain that the "official account" cannot be correct but next to nothing to account for how it was done or who was responsible and why. Believe me, I have been there and dealt with her and her followers far more than I would prefer, because she has become an agent of destruction and of obfuscation for those of us who are doing what we can to expose the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Ask yourself, Why would a serious student of 9/11 resort to a distorted definition of my work, which is an obvious gross misrepresentation of who I am and what I represent? I have published 29 books and hundreds of articles and have been recognized for my research multiple times. I have devoted myself for decades to exposing governmental complicity in the assassination of JFK, the atrocities of 9/11, the death of Sen. Paul Wellstone, the absurdities of Sandy Hook, the Boston bombing and most recently the NSA surveillance program. One of us is attempting to expose falsehoods and reveal truths; the other is not. A book like this on such controversial subjects is going to generate controversy by itself and does not need contrived attacks from biased sources who appear to be more concerned with self-promotion and derailing serious research on 9/11 than in advancing it.

Lots of food for thought and reflection here about JFK's death and 9/11

One focus of Mike Palecek's 450-page anthology THE DYNAMIC DUO: THE WHITE ROSE BLOOMS IN WISCONSIN: KEVIN BARRETT, JIM FETZER & THE AMERICAN RESISTANCE (2013) is on my former colleague at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), James H. ("Jim") Fetzer.
Jim (born 1940) and I (born 1944) both started teaching at UMD in the fall of 1987 - he in philosophy, and I in writing studies (as my former department is now known). He retired from UMD in May 2006; I, in May 2009. After Jim retired from UMD, he and his wife moved to a suburb of Madison, Wisconsin, to be near their daughter and her family. (Kevin Barrett also lives in the Madison area.)
Within philosophy, Jim's specialization is the philosophy of science. He has established a distinguished publication record in his field.
As a public intellectual, Jim is probably most widely known for his work on JFK's assassination. He has edited three anthologies of essays about JFK's assassination:
(1) ASSASSINATION SCIENCE: EXPERTS SPEAK OUT ON THE DEATH OF JFK (1998);
(2) MURDER IN DEALEY PLAZA: DECEIT AND DECEPTION IN THE DEATH OF JFK (2000);
(3) THE GREAT ZAPRUDER FILM HOAX: WHAT WE KNOW NOW THAT WE DIDN'T KNOW THEN ABOUT THE DEATH OF JFK (2003).
I greatly admire Jim's persistent and perceptive scholarly inquiries into the death of President John F. Kennedy.
However, as a public intellectual, Jim has also been active in analyzing 9/11 and other well-known events. Kevin Barrett has also been active in discussing 9/11. Palecek's anthology provides a wide range of materials about their various investigations as public intellectuals.
Now, long before I started at UMD in 1987, I had been familiar with the expression about "the clunched fist of logic and the open hand of rhetoric."
Jim represents the spirit of "the clunched fist of logic." In short, he is characteristically overly insistent about his own views. (Disclosure: Yes, I like to urge my views on others, but I usually try to avoid sounding as assertive as Jim does.)
In addition, he tends to talk very fast - faster than, say, television newscasters typically talk. Rat-tat-tat. (Disclosure: No, I do not talk as fast as he does.)
So if 2 + 2 = 4 (in a decimal-based system of math), then the spirit of "the clunched fist of logic" + fast talking = what?
How about a television infomercial? Rat-tat-tat. Razzle-dazzle.
In a television infomercial, the fast talk is designed to move us to assent quickly, without further reflection, to the information that has been presented and order the product.
In Jim's fast talk, the fast talk appears to be designed to move us to assent quickly, without further reflection, to the information contained in his argument and buy into his argument. (Disclosure: Yes, I would prefer to have people eventually buy into the arguments I present, but preferably after they have had sufficient time to digest my arguments and consider them carefully.)
One further point. Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle worked with the idea of the mean between the extremes as the way to conceptualize the virtue of courage. For them, courage was the mean between the extremes of being brash and being cowardly.
Jim tends to be brash. (Disclosure: Yes, I can remember times when I have been brash.)
Now, in the anthology James Manns in philosophy at the University of Kentucky sympathetically details how and why Jim was not granted tenure there (pages 78-85). Briefly, the tenured faculty in philosophy there could not bring themselves to hold their noses and vote to give their brash junior colleague tenure, even though he had established a distinguished publication record. Despite his publications, they decided that they would prefer not to have their brash junior colleague around for years and years to come as a tenured colleague.
In any event, this episode shows that Jim has paid a price at times for being brash. Why does Jim tend to be brash? Evidently, he himself has no insight about this, or else he chose not to tell us his insight about this tendency in response to Palecek's questioning him about his life. (Disclosure: No, I have not been interviewed about my life for publication. In this respect, I am not able to put myself in Jim's shoes in his interview with Palecek.)
Fortunately, you can read Palecek's anthology without being distracted by these characteristics of Jim's typical demeanor, because the medium of the printed book somewhat mutes and filters out these distracting features of his behavior.
In addition, print invites further reflection. And you should always reflect carefully on things Jim says, as you should always reflect carefully on things other people in the public arena say, including things I say in this customer review.
Now, Jim and Kevin Barrett (born 1959) are the dynamic duo mentioned in the main title. At one time, they served as the hosts of a radio talk show with that name.
The anthology includes transcribed interviews conducted by Palecek with each of them. In those pieces, Palecek asks each of them in turn about his life. I found the biographical information about each of them informative, but not especially insightful.
The anthology contains a number of other pieces by various authors, including Palecek, covering a wide range of topics related to Jim's and/or Kevin's interests. And a selection of photographs; a bibliography of books, articles, and radio shows; and a useful index. (Disclosure: I am quoted in the anthology on pages 169-170, stating some of my impressions about Jim.)

Hilarity

I saw the author and Jim Fetzer doing a presentation on the book at a local bookstore. Having known Fetzer for 19 years, I can only conclude that the book belongs in either the humor or the fiction section. Comparing a fringe type like Fetzer to the anti-Nazi White Rose goes well beyond reason. Fetzer is a 9/11 "Truther" (i.e., the government attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon), claims the Zapruder film of the JFK assassination was faked (along with much other evidence in the case), thinks the Sandy Hook shootings were a government plot--along with the Boston Marathon bombings. Reality and James Fetzer are not well acquainted. I believe in a conspiracy in the JFK assassination, but most in the research community view Fetzer as completely lacking in credibility.
