I do not recommend this book for an intro inorganic chemistry course. To begin, there was no color or pictures to help illustrate concepts. The book was written in a confusing manner and would skip steps in conceptual explanations or problems assuming the student already knows it. There are better textbooks out there- find them

A very good textbook for higher level students

I think it is a wonderful book of descriptive inorganic chemistry. Instead of describing various reactions and phenomena, this book tries its best to tell you the principles governing the chemistry of each element in a rather "inorganic" way. I doubt that the beginners will feel it dull as there are no clolor and ony fewer figures in it. For those who have learnt general chemistry or organic chemistry and want to rationalize their observations and knowledges obtained by reciting, this book is strongly recommended for this purpose.
